Deadline for Georeferencing Requirements for Rural Properties Extended to 2029

On October 21, 2025, the Federal Government published Decree No. 12,689/2025, which extended the deadline for mandatory certification of georeferencing of rural properties by four years.

With the issuance of the decree, the deadline was extended specifically for situations involving the subdivision, parceling, consolidation, and transfer of rural properties, regardless of the area. Therefore, the previous schedule, which linked the requirement for georeferencing to the size of the property, is no longer valid, and a single deadline for regularization is now in effect.

Thus, all rural properties, regardless of their size, will have until October 21, 2029 to complete the georeferencing necessary for operations involving the subdivision, parceling, consolidation, or transfer of rural property.
