The deeds and powers of attorney platform is available for public consultation.

The Central de Escrituras e Procurações (CEP) is a platform for notarial acts nationwide that is now available for public consultation. The initiative, mandated by the National Council of Justice (CNJ), aims to facilitate access to information, especially for creditors who face difficulties locating assets subject to seizure, speeding up the processing of cases.

Regulated by Provision No. 194/2025 of the National Judicial Inspectorate, the CEP follows the guidelines of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and adopts strict security and control standards. The measure aims to increase the transparency of public records, expedite legal proceedings, and make enforcement of decisions more effective, especially those aimed at settling debts.

Searching by ZIP code will allow, for example, access to legal acts of donation, exchange, purchase and sale of real estate, among others, which may indicate the existence of assets owned by the debtor or that have been transferred to third parties to avoid satisfaction of the credit.

Consultation of deeds and powers of attorney can be done through website buscacep.org.br, administered by the Brazilian Notarial College — Federal Council (CNB/CF). Access is free and requires authentication with an ICP-Brasil digital certificate or notarized certificate, the latter of which is issued free of charge by Notary Public Offices. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To search, simply enter the full name and CPF (Individual Taxpayer Registry) or CNPJ (Corporate Taxpayer Registry) of the desired individual or legal entity.

The system provides data such as the responsible registry office, book and page numbers, and the type of act performed. It is also possible to request an electronic certificate to access the full content of the document identified by the search, for which the corresponding fees are required.

The teams from the Civil and Labor Litigation areas of Simões Ribeiro Lawyers remain attentive to these updates and are available to clarify any questions on the topic.
